@Poor Uncle- Nice pick up on CosmeticSurgeons.Co. In my humble opinion I would develop and use a directory based monetization strategy. The .Co's are ranking extremely well in the SERPS. I've been running a case study since the gTLD first launched last year.

ps. I love the name you chose for your blog.

@Jason- That's really good advice. I manually renew all of my domains as well.

You should have used the bulk option to remove the automatic renewal on all domains. Luckily you didn't use privacy on the domains, or you would have paid much more. It's a learning lesson. I pay close attention since I lack the funds. A mistake like that would sink me in quicksand.

Decline the automatic renewal option when you first register the domains on GoDaddy. Now you own the same dot co as last year. I would contact as many end-users as possible to sell them. Don't lose out on domains that sit around collecting dust.

At least you won the 25,000th comment prize. That makes up for the auto renewal mistake. Good luck. Thanks.

Nice post. Why Park is a good alternative to parking. You can get good traffic on specific domains. I have one domain on the platform that scored over 11,000 unique in this current month.

If you find a quality domain, make sure you deselect the WhyPark article setting to 0. Write your own articles on these domains.

Another option to sell domains is using Afternic. In my opinion, they seem to sell many overpriced domains. Nonetheless, the platform captures a large end-user audience.

Good job on the blog. Thanks.

[..] You can make $5 million with one website in 10 years. You will need to have a few hundred domains that are linking to the site, and a great business idea. [..]

You've hit the nail on the head here, that advice is probably the best technique in any business regardless of it's environment, pretty much sums up the search engine wars in the early 2000's. now most of the old favs are either google or yahoo owned, (hotbot, alloftheweb.etc)
