Warren Buffett

StreetCapitalist.com - Warren Buffett

I just read this article from The Motley Fool reporting that Warren Buffett is preping for inflation by buying shorter maturity bonds. Common sense tells me that we are already experiencing inflation in terms of food price, gasoline price, movie tickets, and even real estate. Even with the housing bubble burst, housing is still more experience today than a decade ago. I read all these reports about deflation, and the FED keep saying that inflation is kept moderate (or is a non-issue). I wonder where my common sense logic fail me.

Although, it is true that the prices of all the tech related stuff are quite cheap compare to just a few years ago…thing like lcd tv, laptops, computers, electronics, and low end cars. So, I guess this would help slow down inflation.

But I agree with Mr. Buffett that inflation is coming or is already here. With the prospect of high inflation and the current historic low mortgage rate could be an opportunity to invest in some real estate to lock in at low rates. What do you all think?

By the way, I used to follow the Motley Fool advice on stock, buy and hold (forever). I don’t agree with that philosophy anymore.  I am a newbie in domain name investing, but my hunch is that it’s better than stock because with domain names you can monetize the website for a stream of income while holding onto the name for equity appreciation, same with real estate investments.

  1. I agree with you on domain names. They’re so much better than stocks. You have the opportunity to turn nothing into something, or find a diamond in the rough.

I find it easy to find good domain names that are unregistered. Basically, they have some residual value or are already established keywords that are overlooked.

Tip of the day: Don’t always go after what is obvious. Look for names that have between 2,000-20,000 average keyword results. There are some gems that fall under that stat bracket.

As for the valuation tools; they are great to use to determine which domain names have popular monthly searches, as well as ones that are common when you put parenthesis around the keywords.

Some people tend to think that their keywords produce x amount of searches in Google, when in fact there is far less searches for the keywords. I would trust the appraisals, however, they are a good indication for negotiating a price.

If we didn’t have these tools, we would never know how much a domain is actually worth, or how it performs in terms of keyword results and month popular searches.

Use 7Zoom and Website Outlook to locate the true value of high traffic and Google Page Ranked domains.

Good job with putting up the hotel apps on your PCH Beaches. I wrote a message on Elliots Blog to let you know to use that option. I’m not sure whether you received it.

Capitalize on building this domain because it can easily be worth 4 figure to the right buyer. Give it some time to grow. Submit the domain into all the search engines, as well as promoting it on Twitter and Facebook.

I would advertise it on Craig’s List and also at Sales Spider. There are many ways you can really transform the domain into a nice piece of Internet real estate.

Thanks for sharing the article. Did you ever close the deal on the domain?

Thank you so much for all your comments. You even helped me build a link to PCHBeaches.com on Elliotsblog. I am touched and grateful.

You know, I never heard back from the guy who made an offer on Text2God.org. He email me on Saturday. I didn’t respond until Monday. I went against your advice..because I am still in the learning process. (learning how not to do things by doing it). I counter with $1800. I figure if he thinks that I am out of my mind, he’d respond and tell me to get lost. I follow up on Thursday, but haven’t heard from him. I figure that he probably wasn’t serious have I accepted his offer.

I am still trying to learn the game of buy/sell domains. At this point it is still a learning experience.

I am not a Christian or a Jew, but I was thinking of using Text2God.org to publish the Tarah (First 5 books of the Bible) because I want to learn the Judeo Christian values from its source. I think others would be interested too. Do you know whether those text is public domain?
